Miss me??
Boy, it's been a while, hasn't it. I've definitely got to get back into my blogging routine again. I miss it.
Do people still blog anymore?
It has been my curse for many years that people tend to divulge all sorts of information to me, most of which I'd never care to know to begin with. The hardest part of being a fashionista is the fact that I'm now forced to small talk my way through sales and keep husbands and boyfriends occupied while their wives and girlfriends wander through the store looking for the latest styles.
On Wednesday I waited on a man and his wife who were shopping for an outfit for the wife to wear to a wedding.
In the period of time it took for the wife to try on a few outfits and use the bathroom I learned that the husband had been a single dad, his wife had left him when his 2 kids were 8 and 11, he had been a respiratory therapist up until November when he came down with a respiratory disease, he had been mistaken for Hank Williams Jr. on several occasions in the past, he had formerly sported long black hair that drove the women wild, and he had only been married to his current wife for 2 years.
I think he may have been trying to hit on me, actually. Yikes!
The store manager happened to be standing by the register when the husband went into his detailed account of his Hank Williams Jr. days. I could see her, through the corner of my eye, staring openly at this guy in disbelief, mouth agape.
Apparently nobody EVER tells her the intimate details of their every day life. I told her she was lucky.

I used to do some small-budget porn. I was living the high life back then, but then I caught some kind of venereal disease, which pushed me out of the biz. It still flares up every once in awhile. Can you find me a size 12? These 10s must run a little small or something.

I used to hate it when people would start to unload their life story on you. How the hell does "my wife left me, etc. etc." answer the question "will that be paper or plastic"?
That's a funny story. Hope you're doing well. I'm back to blogging after a 9 month hiatus. It's kinda weird, as many of my fellow bloggers are either on hiatus themselves or quit alltogether.

It has been ages since I've heard of or seen you - lovely to see you are alive and kicking ;)
I must tell you that Dress Barn is one of my fav shopping stores. I must also add that I hardly EVER go shopping - I hate it. Having put on a few (ahem) extra pounds this past 5 years (during which I underwent a perfectly natural but dreaded "change")... my normally svelte shape has certainly changed or should I say contorted - into something "hugely" different than its original proportions. Dress Barn has always held the greatest fashions for my shape - and even now in my uh... rather more generous proportions has managed to provide me with many choices in dress wear. My point... oh yeah. Some months ago during the horrible recession our country is experiencing, Dress Barn announced many closures... my hometown in Walnut Creek being one of the stricken ones. Auuuughhhhhhh!!!!!!!! Now I have to drive for over 45 minutes to arrive at a Dress Barn - hence the fact I never make it down there any more. Sorry you have to put up with such crap, but hey, the discount must be nnice :)
