Life? What life?

Overtime is upon us again, which totally sucks.

The production managers have decided to put in a request for FEMA trailers to house us in this summer, considering we will need to be available for plant support around the clock. If we're nice enough, we may be able to talk Keith into parking the bus out back as well, mini bar on wheels! Perhaps, if we're lucky, we might even be able to steal some free satellite TV from the building.

"We'd be in high cotton!" as Jim would put it.

Looks like I'm going to have to pull out the Ms. Saturday sash and crown. Ugh!

I would get claustrophobic in those trailers after being in them all day.

Mini Bar on Wheels sounds like fun. Living in a FEMA trailer doesn't. Think I would spend my time in the Mini Bar.

phoenix, I've never seen one. I picture a little travel trailer, it could be like camping. LOL

gareth, make sure you supply us with some corned beef. Yum!

fuzzbox, we're planning on having one big tailgate party. I wonder if that has ever been done before....

damasta, I'm not sure what 'high cotton' means. I think it's supposed to be a good thing.

Sorry if I get a little foul here but the term high cotton comes from the old saying, 'Shitting in high cotton.' This describes a very desirous condition as finding high stalks of cotton would hide one's actions in the middle of a cotton field.

If you have to delete this comment. I will understand.

thanks gareth, I'm liking it myself. With the exception of my fruity expression on comments.

fuzzbox, thanks for clearing that up for me! I would have never guessed that! LOL

I'm leaving the comment, just in case others are wondering about it's origin.

Fuzzbox is right on, but there's more to it. Prepare yourself for more pleasant images. Not only would "shitting in high cotton" mean your actions were hidden, it also meant there was lots of nice soft cotton to use as toilet paper. :)

Being "in high cotton" also referred to having a bumper crop of cotton that year. Eventually, it came to have a meaning similar to "rolling in the dough" or "raking it in" or even "living in the lap of luxury."

Alabama has a song called "High Cotton." That link should work if you have Windows Media Player. This is classic country, folks.
