Onion Jackson

Old friends. It's amazing, when you see them, even if you haven't seen them in years, you can talk with them like you've just talked the day before. When I was at Wal Mart today, I seen Laurie, and we must have talked for an hour or more. She never changes, still the same old Laurie. I miss working with her. She could make me laugh on even the worst of days.

While we standing there talking, Zachary had sucked a little sample cup on his chin. He had left it there so long, it gave him a chin hickey. We laughed so hard tears streamed out of our eyes. It definitely reminded me of the old times, when we worked together. That was a normal occurance to us.

In case your wondering, "onion" Jackson came about when Laurie told me that as a baby, she greatly resembled an onion. Her hair stuck straight up, just like the roots of an onion. It didn't help that she also has red hair.

Mother's Day Breakfast

I missed Zachary's Mother's Day Breakfast yesterday. It's the first one I've ever missed, and I feel absolutely cheated. He's growing up now, and it may be the last opportunity I had to go to something like that. He was a little unhappy when he asked me why I didn't go. I didn't even know it was yesterday.

Growing up is not an easy thing to do. I've been there, I know all about it.

FU

Mary absolutely cracked me up today. So much so, that I feel it is noteworthy. I was working as a receiver today to pass through some critical consignment parts. One component I had was discrepant, so I had asked her to email the component engineer. Trying to capture the correct spelling of 'Fujitsu', she says very loudly "Now, Sherri, That's FU?" I knew exactly what she was asking, but I just had to reply back in a sarcastic way, "Yah, that's FU to you too!" I don't think I have laughed that hard in forever.

Smile

Guys have no idea, but you can absolutely read what they are thinking right on their face. When a guy has a crush on a girl, he will smile the minute he see's her, and the smile will stay on his face until long after the girl is gone. If you catch a guy looking, he will look away the minute you make eye contact, but that small secret smile will still remain on his lips. There is no mistaking it, you absolutely know what he was thinking.

On the other hand, if a guy is angry with you, he will avoid looking at you at all cost. He will say whatever you want him to say just to get you as far away as possible. Why, because he knows that the minute he looks at you, that smile will spring forth, and he will be unable to be mad at you any longer.

Kodiak

Well, it's official. They named the new Rohs line the 'Kodiak'. Totally my name. :) Nobody knows I was the one who submitted it though. That's what bites. At least I know though. I guess that's all that matters. I wonder if it would have made a difference if they knew who submitted the name? I mean, if the managers had known I was the one who submitted, would they still have found the name so appealing??

Food for Though

A man that I work with had his lunch stolen. Not only is that poor character, but it's a sign of low class. As I was listening to the story being retold to me, I suddenly remembered about a tip I had heard somewhere.

If you don't want people to take your stuff, don't wash your hands after you use the bathroom.

Next time I see him, I may just pass on this pearl of wisdom to him. :)

PM Meeting

During the PM Meeting, we somehow veered way off course. Suddenly, we were talking about eunuchs and hermaphrodite. Shocking as that subject was, the even more shocking part was that I knew exactly what they were, and nobody else did, with the exception of one other manager. Yikes!! I believe they must all think I'm weird.

Flavor Crystals

It was a brilliant thinker that came up with the idea of flavor crystals for chewing gum. :)

I have often offered a stick to the chain smoking coffee fiends that come my way to discuss important issues. I shall never be without my minty gum with flavor crystals.

'Bitch and Love It'

My friend Mary is absolutely miserable here at work. She has decided she wants to get a great big decal for the back window of her car that says "Bitch! And Love It!" I told her to make sure she had some really cool looking flames surrounding it. I do feel bad, though. Nobody should have that much anamosity in their life where they feel they have to put something like that in the window of thier car.

I have copied an email I received from her this morning.

Sherri

I wanted to let you know I applied for another job on line to victories casino, they asked who I worked for so I gave them you name I hope that is alright. I don't know if they will contact you or not, but just wanted you to know. I am keeping it quite though because I don't want people to know. Thanks

Power of the Unknown

I have always wondered what happened to people after they pass. I know I'm not the only one, many of the people whom I have spoken with have expressed the same thoughts.

I work with a 72 year old woman who's son passed away a few years back. This morning, she comes in and tells me that her son's former place of employment sent her husband a check from his profit sharing plan. She was in tears. She had the letter in her hand to show me. Now, for the past several days, she has been winning the lotto and Keno as well. Not big quantities of money, just a couple hundred dollars here and there. What number do you suppose she has been playing?? None other then her son's birthday. It all just seems to be much more then coincidence, and to the mother of a lost son, it can only be a gift.

I, myself, have had previous brushes with something that just had to be much more then coincidence. I was extremely close with my Grandmother, and still miss her deeply to this day. I can say that when I have been at my absolute lowest point, some miracle has always happened to save me. I just can't help but think that in some way my Grandmother was responsible for giving me a little help.

Hello!

Because this is my first attempt at creating a blog, I have no idea what I am doing! :) So, I thought I would start by saying 'Hello' and attempt to introduce myself.

I'm a 30 year old married mother of 2 boys, and I have a million and one opinions about everything. So, this being a forum in which I can express myself, this is perfect!

I do hope to receive lots of feedback and comments about my thoughts and opinions, so please don't be shy. That being said, please do not be negative or sarcastic either. I will never say anything harmful to another, I would appreciate the same courtesy in return.
